MPI Technology Approves Overseas Acquisition: To Acquire 100% Stake in German Semiconductor Automation Measurement Systems Integrator ATV Eyeing EU Market Expansion
2025/10/08
MPI Technology (hereinafter referred to as “MPI”) held a board meeting today and approved a proposal for an overseas acquisition. The company plans to invest EUR 14 million (approximately NTD$ 500 million) to acquire 100% equity in AutomatisierungsTechnik Voigt GmbH (hereinafter referred to as “ATV”), a German company specializing in the integration of automated measurement systems for the semiconductor industry. MPI has officially obtained the FDI approval letter from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) as of September 24, 2025, and the effective acquisition date is set for November 1, 2025.
ATV is based in Dresden, Germany—a major hub for the semiconductor industry—and is a well-known provider of integrated test system solutions. The company specializes in helping clients develop comprehensive integrated systems, partnering with world-class precision semiconductor measurement equipment brands such as Keithley Instruments, Keysight, MPI-AST, Celedon Systems, among others. With its strong technical foundation, ATV customizes measurement solutions for semiconductor clients and has earned high recognition from customers across Europe through its long-term dedication and excellence.
To meet the future demands of semiconductor clients in Europe and to enhance its local service capabilities, MPI has decided to acquire 100% of ATV. Through this acquisition, MPI aims to expand its business footprint in Europe. Based on a long-standing, trust-based relationship between the two companies, both sides believe that the acquisition will enable closer collaboration to better support customer testing needs. This acquisition is expected to significantly strengthen MPI’s precision measurement system integration services in Europe, optimize the completeness and timeliness of customer support, and further boost customer satisfaction and trust.
MPI already has subsidiaries in the United States and other overseas markets. Europe, following the U.S., will become another major investment region in the semiconductor industry for the company. By acquiring ATV, MPI will be able to enhance its integrated service capabilities in Europe to better meet the future needs of its clients.
