We are committed to energy conservation, carbon reduction, and hazardous substance reduction to minimize environmental impact. All manufacturing sites are designed and operated in compliance with local environmental regulations and strive to exceed regulatory standards to create a greener environment. To reinforce our environmental commitment, MPI implemented the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in 2016 and successfully obtained certification. We have continued to pass verification audits, most recently in 2025, with the current certification valid until September 19, 2028. Additionally, to enhance energy efficiency, we already implemented the ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EnMS) in 2016 and have since maintained its operation.
Since 2022, MPI Corporation has conducted organizational greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and designated 2022 as the base year. The Company has established a company-wide GHG management system to ensure the accuracy and transparency of emissions data across all sites. External verification of GHG inventories is conducted annually, and the inventory scope is being progressively expanded to include subsidiaries in accordance with regulatory requirements, thereby strengthening the Group’s overall carbon management framework.
In 2024, MPI Corporation established its carbon reduction targets, committing to reduce the parent company’s Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 10% to 20% from the base-year level by 2030, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040. The Board of Directors reviews the progress of GHG inventories and carbon reduction initiatives on a quarterly basis to ensure the effective implementation of these targets. On May 13, 2026, MPI Corporation reported to the Board of Directors on its GHG inventory, external verification, and implementation results. We will continue to strengthen our carbon reduction strategies, advance the transition to low-carbon operations, and promote corporate sustainability.
